POSITION DESCRIPTION
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engagement
- Designing consultation and engagement plans from project documents, including implementation and the activities for each phase.
- Scheduling and participating in project engagement with Indigenous Nations, including site visits, meetings, and reviews of project-related documents.
- Writing consultation logs, engagement tracking, and summarization reports.
- Drafting consultation summaries and consultation adequacy reports when needed.
- Follow established processes for creating and managing budgets, scope changes, change orders, and work orders.
- Authoring clear and accessible descriptions of utility projects.
- Coordinating and working with team members, clients, and stakeholders and following procurement processes to identify opportunities to issue the purchase order.
- Supporting and attending project meetings with client teams and external contractors.
- Developing contracts for cultural and archaeological monitoring.
General
- Following Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and maintain standards for confidentiality.
- Contributing to discipline-specific business development by maintaining positive relationships with the client and seeking out additional opportunities.
- Actively participating in company meetings and functions.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum undergraduate degree in a social science or environmental discipline (geography, environmental sciences or studies, ecology, political science, sociology, etc.).
- 3 years of relevant and progressive engagement facilitation experience.
- Experience working directly with clients.
- Demonstrated experience authoring engagement materials and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in relationship-building with Indigenous peoples.
- Experience working with proponents, regulators, and Indigenous nations on large complex projects is considered an asset.
- Motivated, positive team player, who collaborates effectively and respectfully with others.
- Solutions oriented and able to work independently with limited instruction under deadlines.
- Comfortable with learning new systems and processes in a dynamic environment.
WORKING LOCATION
Work will be performed in one of TWC’s offices, home office, and at client sites, including offices, project operations, communities, and other premises.
TRAVEL
Occasional travel may be required to achieve the duties and responsibilities above to serve client and TWC needs.
