We currently have an opportunity for a **Machinist to join our Maintenance team** at our Steinbach facility. **As a Machinist, you will be responsible for**:

- Machining parts/components and maintaining equipment and tooling.
- Setup and configuration of fixtures, tooling, and components to ensure desired results
- Reading blueprints and specifications to set up and operate a variety of machine operations
- Verifying the dimensions and accuracy of machined parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Performing preventative maintenance on equipment and assisting in repairs
- Determining the best way of making parts/repairs to minimize interruption of production
- Maintaining quality workmanship for optimal machine performance and production capabilities
- Ensuring that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
- Providing superior internal customer service
- Experience as a machinist or fabricator in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with a variety of machining equipment (lathe, manual mill, 3-axis mill)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong mathematical skills
- Innovative problem-solving abilities
- Experience with tools normally found in a maintenance department
- Ability to understand blueprints
- Attention to detail, working with precise measurements and specifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude, and self-motivated with an interest in continual learning/training
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable with varying day to day assignments
- Must be comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Certified Red Seal Machinist, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Tool & Die Maker certification an asset
- Understanding of CAD/CAM an asset
- Welding experience is an asset
