We are a small, well established, family run organization and are in the process of enhancing our internal team. We are looking to add a **Marketing and Communications Specialist** who will work closely with our Director of Systems and Operations in the development and implementation of effective and cohesive communication, marketing and social media strategies that support FCL’s strategic goals and objectives while enhancing the FCL brand and the engagement of our target audiences.
This is a great opportunity for a creative individual who understands branding, enjoys content creation and story-telling and has exceptional digital marketing skills. We also need someone who understands we are a small organization and that this is a hands-on role.
- **Specific duties may include, but not be limited to**:_
- Support the Director of Systems and Operations in the design and delivery of communication and marketing plans to achieve corporate priorities.
- Support in the development of, and lead, the annual communications and marketing calendar.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and product development, to align communication and marketing strategies with company goals and initiatives and support FCL’s ability to attract new opportunities.
- Strengthen and articulate FCL’s brand within the global educational technology industry and project a positive company image to the public.
- Conduct research on industry trends and competitor activities to inform best practices for content creation, content strategy and optimize performance.
- Design, create and edit content, promotional and outreach materials using a variety of approaches to foster brand awareness and enhance customer relationships. This may include content for feature articles, press releases, presentations and communications collateral for events, etc.
- Responsible for the updates and maintenance of the corporate website and other communication tools, to ensure communication to, and engagement with, the audience is done in a professional and effective manner and is compliant with accessibility standards. (i.e. AODA, CASL, etc.).
- Collaborate with creative professionals to design and print/produce materials that inform, influence, and motivate target audiences.
- Utilize analytical tools to measure the performance of our communication efforts and continuously optimize strategies based on data insights to enhance reach.
- Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies across various platforms.
- Participate in social and celebratory events and conferences related to FCL and its partners. This may include conceptualizing, organizing, and executing event activities.
- **What we are looking to have you bring to us**:_
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in corporate communications and marketing, which will include: original writing and editing, digital marketing, managing social media sites and some public relations.
- Passion for education and understanding of the education technology industry, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with a knack for storytelling through digital mediums.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated proofreading skills.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze data effectively and report on key performance indicators.
- Superior time and project management skills with the ability prioritize and oversee multiple tasks.
- Ability to think and respond quickly and effectively under pressure, exercising tact, diplomacy, and good judgment. Creative problem-solving is expected in this role.

- Language proficiency in English. Proficiency in French or other languages is considered an asset.
- Ability and commitment to working flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, when special events are scheduled.
- Business travel as required to meet the needs of the role and overall operations.
