Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Technician to join our team. As a QC Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products through thorough analysis and inspection. If you have a strong background in quality control and are passionate about maintaining high standards, we encourage you to apply.
As a Quality Control Technician (QC) you will be monitoring a variety of processes to ensure that the regulatory guidelines (CFIA, FDA) are met. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the foods produced at Aliya’s Foods meet the company’s high standards for safe, high-quality food -- ensuring a great experience for our customers. You will report to the QA Manager and the QC Coordinator, as well as other QA technicians, the production team, and the shipping and receiving teams to uphold all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This will involve quantitative and qualitative measurements, problem solving, critical thinking, product sampling as well as inspection of materials, equipment, and the production facility. Production process observation will also be required to monitor compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 year University Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Office, etc.).
- Proficient in data collection, entry, and reporting.
- Is comfortable with computers and learning different software.
- Good understanding of Quality and Food Safety programs and document control.
- Knowledge of GMPs.
- Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
- Must have good understanding of Root Cause Analysis
- Is a team player that can work with others and is willing to follow directions.
- Is independent and self-motivated.
- Can work with flexible schedule in fast paced environment.
- Is proactive and assertive to seek compliance.
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be able to eat a variety of foods (including chicken and beef) and not have any dietary restrictions (some accommodations may be made).
- Must be willing to work in colder environments on occasion
QC Technician Job Responsibilities:
- Reports to QA Manager and QC Coordinator
- Ingredient, in-process, and finished product inspections to ensure food quality and safety standards are met
- Perform onsite monitoring and verification of CQP (Critical Quality Points), products specifications, and product formulations.
- Monitor GMP and SOP compliance and ensure all staff comply with company policies and programs.
- Maintain concise communication with management and alert management immediately when deviation occurs
- Perform onsite inspections of product formulations
- Perform daily product sampling for expert panel sensory evaluation
- Perform onsite inspections of incoming ingredients
- Complete list of assigned daily tasks working alone or as a team
- Any other duties assigned
