**The Role**:
Banquet Servers provide exceptional service to guests during various events that include tableside or buffet services, along with occasional shifts working concessions or bartending. Throughout all these duties, the banquet server is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining a high standard of service.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Setting tables, preparing serving stations, or buffet tables for service
- Greeting guests as they enter the venue and helping them find their seats
- Serving food and beverages to guests at their tables or at serving stations while following all RBC Convention Centre service standards
- Circulating the room with trays of appetizers or beverages while engaging with guests
- Clearing tables and assisting with cleaning and tear down duties for each event
- Communicating and supporting colleagues to ensure a smooth event
- Seeing to the comfort of guests; anticipating guests’ needs; acknowledging and responding promptly to all requests; communicating any special instructions to the Banquet Managers or Kitchen
- Occasional concession duties as required
- Directing guests to necessary services and features
- Observing all sanitation, safety, and quality guidelines

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- MUST have a Valid Manitoba Smart Choices certification, or willingness to obtain it prior to first shift
- A courteous and friendly manner
- Able to work under pressure among large crowds and various groups
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job; standing and walking for extended periods of time, lifting and carrying heavy trays in a safe manner
- Good interpersonal, communication, and guest service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Proof of work or student permit, and supporting documentation will be required upon hire
