Police Support Services is looking for a regular full-time Custodial Guard to join their team.

As a Custodial Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of prisoners through regular visual checks, maintaining detailed records in a Prisoner Log Book, and assisting with the prisoner booking process. Your duties will include searching, cleaning, and inspecting cells and adjacent cell block areas; assisting with prisoner photographs and fingerprints; entering information into a database and spreadsheet; processing prisoner effects; and performing other related duties.

You must have some related experience; the ability to act quickly, correctly and calmly in emergency situations; and possess the physical strength necessary to perform the work. Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts, as well as the ability to contribute positively in a team environment, are required. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required for the position. A valid first aid certificate and computer experience is a strong asset.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.

**Salary**:
$28.37 to $33.25 per hour
(Pay Grade 14 - January 2024 rates)

**Hours of Work**:
Shift work (24/7 operations), including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
