- The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Resilient City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.- The Public Safety Department is seeking individuals to join our auxiliary pool in a Custodial Guard capacity with Police Support Services.**Responsibilities**
- You will visually check prisoners to ensure their safety and security, record details in a Prisoner Log Book, and assist with the prisoner booking process. You will also search, clean, and inspect cells and adjacent cell block areas; assist with prisoner photographs and fingerprints; enter information into a database and spreadsheet; process prisoner effects; and perform other related duties. The Custodial Guard provides first aid to prisoners when required.**Requirements**:
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.**Compensation**
- $25.35 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits- (Pay Grade 14 - January 2024 rates)**Hours of Work**
- The cell block requires 24/7 coverage. Custodial guard shifts may be scheduled up to twelve (12) hours in duration and may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays.**Additional Information**
