As a Business Strategist, you will be responsible for structures, systems, reporting and practices to ensure good governance, compliant implementation, and achievement of business objectives. You will enable strategic and informed decision making by Assessment & Tax leadership by providing environmental and impact analysis, strategic performance data, and legislative and regulatory compliance scrutiny. You will empower effective decision making and implementation through facilitation, informed recommendations, and coordination of accountability and delivery frameworks. Primary duties include:
- Work collaboratively within the business unit, cross-corporately, and with external partners to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and drive service improvements.
- Development, implementation, and coordination of Business Unit Strategic Plan, including Strategic Goals, Objectives, Tactics, and Performance Indicators.
- Leverage systems and tools (e.g. databases, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.) to collect analyse and present data and performance metrics.
- Conduct analyses and market research to determine areas of opportunity and strategies that can achieve improved service performance.
- Facilitate ongoing communication and discussion between the sections within S&P to ensure that the division is collectively addressing client needs and promoting desirable service improvement.
- Investigate internal impact of changes in legislation, policy, or direction as part of Policy team and present analysis of impact including recommendations for changes.
- Work with internal SMEs to design and implement new processes, materials, and systems that comply with new legislation, policy and direction.
- Connect individuals, teams and resources withing the division and between teams within the business unit.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in business planning, strategic planning, corporate and regulatory compliance and reporting, and/or project management ideally in complex, highly regulated organizations is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel) is required.
- Additional training/certifications in strategic planning, business analysis, or project management (e.g. PMP) are an asset.
- Experience with data management systems and data visualization software (e.g. PowerBI) is an asset.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills as well as the ability to build relationships and collaborate with groups and individuals to build consensus, credibility and trust.
- The ability to work independently, be proactive and have a high degree of initiative.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to deal effectively with complex tasks and issues. Time management skills to meet shifting objectives and emerging priorities.

Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $47.01 - 62.84 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35-hour work week
