Job Duties
- Gain Gessmann product knowledge by reviewing technical documentation and product training
- Utilize all available resources to find new prospects and attempt to turn those prospects into customers by identifying the key decision makers
- Manage and interpret customer requirements to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
- Maintaining records of customer communications and contact information as required
- Update client information in the company contact database as required.
- Preparing responses to RFQ (request for quote) and RFI (request for information)
- Provide purchase orders to order entry; communicating expected delivery date; explaining stock-outs if required
- Work with the engineering & production team to ensure customer project requirements are met
- Maintain awareness of pertinent client information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
- Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and local representatives
- Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively
- Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales
- Develop existing accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features
- Attend and participate in industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing clients and representatives
**Requirements**:
- University or college degree in Electrical/Electronics or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- 3 years of direct work experience in a sales or telesales capacity
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals
- Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development and time management
- Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills
- Ability to travel and attend customer sites, sales events or exhibits within Canada, United States and Germany
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills
- Excellent listening skills and professional appearance
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Strong computer skills
Salary to commensurate based on experience.
