**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- Performs all the duties of the Application Support Specialist 1 job. Provides technical direction to

- Completion of a diploma or certificate from a technical institute with a minimum of two (2) years

of practical Technical Help Desk experience acquired as an Application Support Specialist 1 or in

- This is a temporary opportunity for approximately 1 year.
- Normal office conditions.
- Applicants who meet the qualifications will be given first priority. If no applicants meet the

requirement of having Electrical Fundamentals, applicants without EF may be considered.
- This position requires good technical knowledge.
- Experience in the role is an asset.
- The position is with Engineering Services, Operations Drafting and Drawing Management, GIS

Data Quality.

- Manage data quality by monitoring, investigating and correcting missing or incorrect GIS data.
- Report on data quality issues with the objective of improving data entry processes when

appropriate.
- Ensure the GIS data is fit for use and fit for purpose, perform data corrections, etc.
- Recommend system and process changes as related to data quality and management.

The following skills are considered an asset:

- Advanced knowledge of

internal templates.
- Extensive knowledge of BC Hydro’s existing processes for entering and managing distribution
- GIS data.- Ability to monitor, investigate and correct missing or incorrect GIS data.
- Good knowledge of BC Hydro’s GIS QA functionality available in DAD.
- Strong electrical knowledge of BC Hydro’s distribution system and all components that make it

up.
