RESPONSIBILITIES
- General maintenance of all exterior plants, shrubs, trees and lawns, consisting of planting, watering, fertilizing, trimming, edging, mowing, sweeping.
- Safe operation of electric or gasoline powered grounds equipment of various types of grounds keeping equipment. Such as a lawn tractor, mower, lawn sweeper, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, power broom, edger, grass trimmer.
- Assists Gardeners with planting of annuals and various other tasks.
- Capable of working alone and performs duties in an ethical and timely manner.
- Maintains shop and work area in a clean and safe condition, which includes daily cleaning of courtyard, entrances and general litter collection of the entire grounds.
- Adheres to health and safety policies, regulations and safe work practices while operating all equipment and hand tools.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled to start or returning to a post secondary educational institution (University or College) upon the completion of his/her assignment.
- Previous gardening/ landscaping experience.
- Familiarity with the safe operation and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment.
- Work requires heavy physical effort including extensive climbing and using heavy materials weighing 31 pounds or more 40% of the time.

Safety wear, personal protection equipment (PPE) and training will be provided.
