**Donut Monster** is a specialty donut producer that supplies fresh, from-scratch donuts in Hamilton. Our flagship retail location at 246 Locke Street South in Hamilton.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Supervisory/leadership experience within a food service environment (2-3 years)
- Effective leadership and the ability to organize highly functioning and performing teams
- Excellent communication and teaching skills are a must
- Experience working with yeast risen doughs or other commercial bakery experience necessary
- Ability to keep a calm, mature, professional demeanour when needed
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and staff management
- Diploma in baking and pastry arts considered an asset.
- Shift team lead, reports to the Bakery Manager.
- Deals directly with vendor and worker complaints and liaises with the Bakery Manager about any concerns occurring during the shift with staffing (e.g. scheduling; recommending hiring, firing or discipline etc.), health and safety issues, or building or equipment issues.
- Reports to scheduled shifts on time and follows Donut Monster Absence Reporting Policies.

**Physical Health**:

- Must be able to lift 22 kg or more.
- Must be in good physical health, able to meet the demands of a bakery job.

**Donut Production**:

- Maintains knowledge on current offerings of donut flavours.
- Maintains product quality for the shift, ensuring bakers on shift are:Scaling, mixing, and processing doughs, batters and glazes from scratch with high attention to detail.

Rolling, cutting, and shaping donuts consistently.
Frying donuts with accuracy and precision.
Following existing recipes for glazes and garnishes with accuracy, and adjusting as needed to take advantage of seasonal ingredients.

**Conduct**:

- Cultivates a professional, friendly, efficient, and fun work environment.
- Keeps a positive attitude, addressing any issues occurring during the shift in a professional manner.
- Refrains from gossip, unhelpful criticism, and undue negativity in the workplace.
- Abides by and enforces all Donut Monster policies and procedures.

**Health, Safety, Cleanliness and Organization**:

- Ensures efficient bakery operations and cleanliness for the shift.
- Works alongside bakery staff to manage efficient operations of the shift (reviewing checklists, determining the tasks to be done and by whom).
- Enforces procedures established to protect worker health and safety and directs staff and other resources to address health and safety concerns.
- Proactively contributes to maintaining clean and organized workstations and equipment in the bakery.

**Direction**
- Directs bakers (determine the tasks to be done, and by whom) to manage efficient operations of the production of product during the shift.
- Provides bakery staff with direction and monitors how work is performed.
- Boosts morale of team, leads by example in maintaining an upbeat manner, and gives positive feedback to staff when warranted.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: From $19.10 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
