Port Alberni, Canada Coulson Group Full time

At Coulson Aviation, we’re not just flying aircraft—we’re fighting wildfires and protecting communities worldwide. Our fleet includes Boeing 737 FIRELINERS, Hercules C130s, Sikorsky helicopters, and more, operating across Canada, the USA, Chile, and Australia. As we grow, we’re looking for a detail-driven **Advanced Fabrication Technician** to help keep our operations running smoothly.

We’re looking for a hands-on builder who thrives on advanced fabrication tech and treats machines as an extension of their craft. In this role, you’ll operate CNC upholstery systems, 3D scanners, printers, and a gantry foam mill to create everything from aviation interiors to custom automotive builds and prototype parts for new Coulson programs. This isn’t a button-pushing job—it’s for someone passionate about advanced manufacturing, craftsmanship, and tackling first-of-its-kind projects that define our brand.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Operate and maintain CNC upholstery systems, 3D scanners, 3D printers, and CNC foam mills.
- Create digital workflows from scan to CAD to toolpath to finished part.
- Process scan data and generate accurate CAD/CAM programs.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to turn concepts into manufacturable parts.
- Experiment with new materials and refine production methods.
- Inspect output, document setups, and implement best practices.
- Suggest improvements for efficiency, durability, and quality.

**What You Offer**:

- Experience with CNC machines, 3D printers, or scanners.
- Ability to read CAD and create toolpaths.
- Skilled with CAM software and troubleshooting equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Passion for machines and continuous improvement.
- Thrives in fast-changing prototype environments.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and calm under pressure.
- Proud to tackle complex, “impossible” parts.
- Familiarity with Fusion 360, Rhino, SolidWorks and/or experience with FDM/SLA printers and 3D scanning systems would be a plus
- **Bonus** Upholstery or interior fabrication knowledge.

**What We Offer**:

- **Competitive pay**, based on experience.
- A **diverse, inclusive, and respectful** workplace.
- Comprehensive **Health & Retirement benefits**.
- A** matching pension plan** to support your long-term financial goals.
- A **fun, challenging and rewarding** work environment.
