**SPORT AND WELLNESS SPECIALIST**

- Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Sport and Wellness Specialist is responsible for maintaining the current sales pipeline as well as generating new, innovative sport and wellness opportunities. A strong sales background and proactive, collaborative, and engaging approach to sport tourism and/or industry development is required. This position requires specialized professional competence with a broad understanding of regional, national, and international sport organizations and athletes. The incumbent has a demonstrated track record of relationship
- building, bid creation and submission, maintain and oversee CRM system, revenue generation, and ability to oversee small
- and large-scale sporting events. _
- The position requires varied hours of work to carry out the assigned duties. Events are often scheduled outside of Tourism Kingston’s regular business hours. The incumbent is expected to be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some Statutory Holidays as required. _

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build relationships within the industry including community stakeholders, agencies, local and non-local sport organizations, and volunteers.
- Develop productive relationships and regularly consult with community partners such as accommodations, attractions, and transportation representatives to provide clients with in-destination support.
- With guidance from the Chief Executive Officer, set sales and revenue targets, leveraging your expertise to meet and/or exceed sales expectations and demonstrating sector leadership.
- Track progress and maintain records to evaluate the success of sport and wellness initiatives, projects, and events; communicate progress regularly to the Chief Executive

Officer, board, and other stakeholders.
- Proactively prospect for qualified leads and pay-to-play partnerships.
- Develop compelling bid packages and respond to RFIs in a timely manner.
- Formulate and/or adapt strategies based on latest industry insights; stay current with often rapidly shifting trends.
- Oversee site visits and liaise with community stakeholders to ensure proper permissions and logistics are obtained, demonstrating facility management skills.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with every interaction and at every stage of the prospecting and relationship-management process.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and stay up to date with the local, national, and international sport and wellness landscapes.
- Provide support to the Sport and Wellness Committee, which meets quarterly.
- Represent Tourism Kingston, its partners, and the community in a positive, professional, and enthusiastic manner.

EDUCATION
A degree/diploma in sport/wellness management, sport/wellness administration, business administration, tourism management, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years of experience working in sport and wellness management or administration. Demonstrated broad-based knowledge of sport and wellness strategies at the local, national, and international level, and a keen interest in the sport and wellness industry are required. Strong knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas is a significant asset.
