We are seeking a Storekeeper-Electric to join our Electrical Insulation & Laboratory Services Department. Under the direction of the Customer Metering Supervisor, will be responsible for all aspects of meter and material shipping/receiving for Customer Metering. Will assist, as required, in a wide variety of warehouse duties and assist in the instruction and training of junior staff, material layout, maintenance of warehouse equipment, storing, issuing, controlling of material and related equipment. Ensure safe work procedures are followed and security is enforced. On occasion, may be required to perform other duties as assigned. **_ Responsibilities:_** - Performs functions related to materials management including shipping, issuing orders, receiving and inventory audits of electric metering and related equipment. - Ensures dangerous and hazardous materials are properly controlled, stored, and handled, as well as ensures proper labeling is included on all hazardous material containers and storage areas. - Issues metering and related equipment, supplies, and materials to authorized Company personnel and contractors. - Receive/ship metering and related equipment and materials, to ensure the metering and related equipment received/shipped, - reconcile with the shipping bill, and follow up on any discrepancies.- Issue, receive and/or ship outside contractor orders and internal department metering orders. - Maintain accurate records of meter and related equipment, orders received/shipped so that adequate inventory levels meet - operational requirements.- Operate forklift in a safe and responsible manner. - Provide guidance and direction to junior personnel. - Maintain warehouse and outside storage facility and contents in a safe, neat, and orderly manner. - Ensure all District staff are following approved procedure for handling, packaging, transporting, storage, and preservation of metering as per MC (Measurement Canada) requirements. May provide training to District staff on proper handling procedures. - Responsible for ensuring meter reads from Districts are accurate. Errors must be adjusted and recorded with corrected readings to ensure proper billing occurs. - Follow statutory and regulatory requirements and all corporate and Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures. - Identify and report opportunities for improvement and nonconformance for the continual improvement of the QMS and services. - Assist in off-loading, segregation, and handling of gas meters, when required. - May be required to transport materials or equipment to and from outside sites and work safely in all weather conditions. - "Principal Duties are intended to be an accurate reflection of the main duties essential for this position. They are not designed to be_ - an exhaustive list of all duties, tasks and responsibilities."_ MANITOBA HYDRO IS COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY AND EMPLOYMENT EQUITY Reference Code: CO56791011-01 **_ Qualifications:_** - Grade 12 education with a minimum of three years progressively responsible experience and proven proficiency in material handling and documenting. - Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and accept responsibility, while working with a minimum of supervision. - Demonstrated ability to adhere to a quality program and follow accreditation standards. - Familiar with various meter types and metering equipment, such as current transformers, potential transformers, and auxiliary - equipment.- Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures, material accounting and material control. - Knowledge and ability to operate a personal computer including extensive knowledge of material and inventory modules in SAP, BANNER, and GEMS environments, with the ability to learn other electronic data processing skills and systems as required. - Demonstrated ability to read meters and record associated data with a high degree of accuracy. - Required to be certified in Workplace Hazard Material Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous goods - (TDG), First Aid, and forklift operation.- Must work with all staff within Customer Metering & Electrical Codes Department to facilitate a cohesive and highly productive - team environment, and with others both inside and outside the Corporation.- Physically capable of performing all aspects of the job
