**Program Name**: 3A After-School Program

**Job Type**: Part-Time

**Program Hours**: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM

**Position Overview**: The 3A After-School Program seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor to support students in grades 3-7 with English Language Arts and Social Studies. The tutor will help students enhance their academic skills through individualized support, homework assistance, and engaging activities that promote a deeper understanding of language and social studies concepts.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide tutoring in English Language Arts and Social Studies to students in grades 3-7.
- Assist students with homework assignments, projects, and study preparation.
- Develop lesson plans and activities that enhance students' understanding of language, literature, history, and geography.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Communicate regularly with 3A staff and parents regarding student progress and challenges.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages respect and collaboration among students.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in education, English, social studies, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree).
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students in a tutoring or teaching capacity.
- Strong knowledge of English Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum for grades 3-7.
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lessons that meet diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to inspire students to achieve their best.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Familiarity with state standards in English and Social Studies for grades 3-7.
- Experience working in after-school or extracurricular educational programs.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with program staff.

**Working Conditions**:

- In-person tutoring from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: 10 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Education**:
