**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Lift Operations Supervisor, Lift Operators assist in providing an outstanding experience for our guests on the hill. They are responsible for safely loading and unloading guests from the lifts, checking tickets as well as answering guest queries. This team has a key role in exceeding guest service expectations, by creating a friendly and positive atmosphere. This position requires some physical labour including loading T-Bars, lifting and shoveling snow.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Set up and take down/maintenance of lift line equipment such as ramps, mazes and signs
- Assists guests with loading and unloading on a t-bar or handletow
- Monitor and ensure the safe operation of the lift
- Responsible for checking for valid lift tickets and season passes
- Following safe lift operating procedures
- Following Lock Out, Tag Out procedures as directed
- Assist with organizing guests efficiently onto the lift
- Answer guest inquiries
- Shoveling lift loading, unloading, counterweight and decks as needed
- Ability to ski or snowboard, efficiently and safely, between work locations on intermediate (blue square) terrain
- Report any and all lift maintenance issues and concerns
- Fill out all reports for opening and closing lift operations
- Other duties as assigned
**Knowledge, Abilities and Skills**
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment.
- Basic understanding of mountain resort maintenance and ski / snowboarding terrain needs.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently
- Requires physical aptitude to safety negotiate outdoor winter travel on snow and ice.
- Guest service experience and skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
**Required Education and Experience**
No experience is required

- Standard First Aid
- Previous experience with ski area operations
- Experience dealing with the public
