**Job Title**: Winterfest POP Manager **Employment Type**: Full Time, 30 Days Contract **Remuneration**: $25/hour, 40 hours per week **Employment Dates**:January 23, 2024 - February 23, 2024 **Cobalt Connects** Cobalt Connects is a dynamic non-profit arts service organization with a wide range of projects, events, and facilities in the Hamilton/Burlington area, with intentions to expand more broadly in the Southern Ontario region. Founded in 2003, the organization has four main streams of activity (Spaces, Exchange, Public Art, and Consulting). **Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Statement** Cobalt Connects works throughout Ontario, with an emphasis on the Hamilton/Burlington area. Working mostly in the cultural sphere we focus our actions on elevating the pay of artists, technicians and our collaborators, empowering the voices of diverse communities in our planning, programming and partnerships, creating affordable spaces and inclusive communities through our facility projects, and advocating for strong policy that supports a deeper understanding of the role and meaning of ‘culture’ in Canada. **Indigenous Acknowledgement & Engagement** The majority of our actions take place upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which was an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between the Lakes Purchase, 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also acknowledge that the communities we engage with throughout Ontario are on the traditional lands of other Indigenous communities, and home to the urban Indigenous population. Cobalt Connects acknowledges the systemic racism, injustice and cultural genocide that has taken place in Canada under the colonial system of which we are a part. We actively seek to bring Indigenous voices into our programming and leadership as we continue to explore an active role in reconciliation. - **Winterfest POP Manager **_ Hamilton Winterfest POP: NOVA is our indoor immersive experience for February 2025. We are converting a 10,000 square foot space inside Jackson Square in to an outer space exploration designed by a team of local artists. Displays and exhibits will include LEGO, PacMan, real props from Star Trek & Star Wars, a 3D printed recreation of the Battle of Hoth, and so much more The Winterfest POP Manager will primarily be involved in the operational and administrative management of our POP event and retail space, staff, and volunteers.
