**Position Summary**
An exciting opportunity exists in our Metals Division in Fort Saskatchewan for an **Analyst, Operations.**
The purpose of this position is to provide accurate and timely delivery of metallurgical accounting (monthly), refinery feed plans (weekly), production forecasts (monthly) and budgets (annually) for the Corefco Refinery operations.
**Accountabilities**
- Develop annual production & long range plan budgets and monthly 2-year Refinery feed and production forecasts for review and approval. These documents are critical for the Corefco senior leadership to assess business scenarios and appropriate countermeasures and forward looking plans.
- Calculate and report monthly Key Performance Indicators for the Refinery, including recovery, metallurgical efficiency and accountability of nickel and cobalt. Develop and issue Monthly Material Balances to key Corefco and ICCI personnel for use in determining payables and assisting senior leadership decision making.
- Collaborate with Corefco Operations, Materials Management/Logistics, Moa personnel, and incorporate information from external parties (CN & Nirint), to generate 1 to 3 month feed projections which are used to predict on site inventories. Report potential feed shortages, and provide feed rate advice to the Corefco Refinery that will maintain optimum production rates and a consistent Moa feed inventory balance.
- Maintain a database of Refinery feed material receipts, daily feed to process, and feed inventories. Review and validate the ICCI reports for feed material receipts.
- Perform physical inventory counts, and generate monthly feed activity reports.
- Develop and maintain standards and procedure for feed accounting, metallurgical balances, and production forecast/budgets.
- Validate the Refinery and Sherritt Utilities production loss and overall equipment efficiency databases and issue the monthly and quarterly summary reports, supported by area Production Engineers and the Manager, Operations Technical Services. The output of this work is important for the development for the operations business strategies.
- Ensure adherence to the Refinery Quality Management System processes relevant to the role.
- Develop daily and weekly feed instructions for the Refinery that considers the available feed on-site and final product quality requirements
- Advise Leach operations on requirements to treat off-spec feed materials and blending strategies that will be required to minimize processing costs or instability in the process (SCNs, frozen feed, etc.)
- Maintain, distribute, and achieve Refinery KPIs, feed data, and monthly reports
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Diploma-qualified (Chemical or equivalent), or a University degree in the Chemical Sciences is a requirement
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products is a requirement
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial settings is an asset
- Good understanding of Refinery operations is an asset
- Strong knowledge in forecast and budget preparation
