Measurement While Drilling

**We are currently looking for a Measurement While Drilling (MWD) Shop Technician for our business in Nisku, AB.**

Reporting to the MWD Manager, the MWD Technician performs repair and maintenance on Measurement While Drilling equipment supporting field operation activities.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Performs functional testing and sensor calibration checks on surface and down-hole electronic equipment.
- Soldering of electrical connectors, wiring harnesses and components.
- Participates in root cause analysis by providing maintenance findings.
- Use test equipment, power supplies, multimeters and scopes.
- Assembles and disassembles down-hole tools.
- Follow repair procedures, complete documentation and maintain files of repair history

**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**
- Electronic, Instrumentation Diploma or equivalent technical school would be an asset. Related work experience will also be given consideration.
- Strong computer skills are essential.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform consistent procedures on down-hole equipment.

**BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES**
- Good organizational time management skills with the ability to allocate time and self-manage tasks to deliver equipment to meet operations requirements.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Electronic, Instrumentation Diploma or equivalent technical school would be an asset. Related work experience will also be given consideration.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ability to work overtime and on call, as workload requires.
- Required to complete pre-employment screening requirements including, but not limited to, drug and alcohol testing, and physical and medical testing.

Avoids injury resulting from manual handling tasks, by use of risk assessment, correct mechanical handling equipment and correct manual handling techniques
