**Topman (Water & Sewer)**

Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Surveyor to work on underground / water & sewer projects located in Saskatoon. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

**Duties include (but are not limited to)**:

- Work with the Lead Hand and foreman to determine work planning and flow
- Establish grade for water, storm and sanitary lines as well as duct banks
- Work closely with the pipelaying crew to provide materials needed
- Rig and assist with supplying materials to the ditch - maintain a high level of communication with the ditch crew and operators to ensure safety, quality and timing
- Complete site documentation as required
- Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

**Required Skills**:

- 2+ years of Topman / Grademan / Surveyor experience
- Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset
- Ability to read blueprints and grade sheets
- Ability to use an eye level with geodetic capabilities
- Safety conscious
- Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
- Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
- Organized and always one step ahead of the ditch
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman
- Able to support other positions as needed
- Strong communication skills - provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
- Ability to mentor workers for advancement
- Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty

**Required Certifications**:

- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS 2015
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space is an asset
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 is an asset
