The role of the Plant Operator is a critical and foundational role in our structure. Plant Operators are responsible for the supervision and for the day-to-day activities at the plant location, operating within the framework of established policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operation of the plant, within the framework of a Centrally Distributed Structure. The Plant Operator provides leadership to ensure good morale and employee relations at the plant while facilitating communication between the plant, Drivers, other Management and Distribution with accuracy and timeliness.

**Responsibilities**:

- Daily and Weekly Plant Inspections
- Monitor slump times of various drivers - based on information provided by distribution
- Coordinate with Distribution supply requirements
- Establish a good Supervisor rapport with the drivers
- Attempt to investigate any potential issues developing at the plant and initiate any immediate corrective action or seek support from other management resources
- Understand current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
- With the Plant Management Team collaborate on appropriate behaviour management strategies where required.
- Coordinate and Lead Plant Team Meetings
- Contractor Safe Work Permit Forms - Proper Completion of Permit, Interview with Contractor, Storage of Completed Form
- Participate in annual safety audits and preparation work for the annual safety audits
- Review the Truck Outage Report and track Plant Trucks out of service. Coordinate with distribution to ensure drivers have trucks.
- Conduct weekly cleanliness inspection of the plant fleet.
- Issue keys to the assigned trucks in the morning - verifying the proper condition of the driver.
- Meet Monthly testing targets
- Incident reports

**Requirements**:

- High School diploma/GED
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training performing batching, plant operation, blending or quality assurance functions
- Must possess a valid driver’s license. May require a valid loader ticket
- Basic computer skills with ability to use batch mixing system
