A small, privately operated, senior's assisted living care home in Courtenay is looking to hire a Care Aide. The home has six seniors who have a variety of needs such as: medication disbursements, food preparation, laundry, and bathing assistance. The home has parking for several vehicles. You can address your cover letter to Evelyn Carruthers. Feel free to ask any questions that you have. Hours available for a Care Aide: There are morning shifts and evening shifts. On rare occasion staff have been asked if they are available if they could stay for a night. The bare minimum availability you must have is for two 6.25 hour shifts during the week or the weekend. Wages for a Care Aide: Step 1 $25.00 Up to and including one year Step 2 $26.00 More than one year and up to and including two years Step 3 $26.75 More than two years and up to and including three years Step 4 $27.50 More than three years Qualifications required for a successful Care Aide: Alternatives could be students of a nursing program. 2) You have a First Aid certificate (such as "Emergency First Aid - Community Care" through "St. John Ambulance"). 5) You can pass a test for Tuberculosis (TB). It is essential that you have good interpersonal communications skills, and that you can relate well with elderly people and their families. Also, good cooking and baking skills will be an asset. You must be physically fit to the extent that you can perform basic household cleaning, and you must be able to work unsupervised. All staff must have both COVID-19 vaccinations and the booster. This is non-negotiable. **Job Type**: Part-time Part-time hours: 20-40 per week **Salary**: From $25.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Discounted or free food - Flexible schedule - On-site parking Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Supplemental pay types: - Overtime pay COVID-19 considerations: All staff must have both COVID-19 vaccinations and the booster.
