**GARDEN CENTER ASSOCIATE**

The Garden Center Associate (GCA) is responsible for performing all duties described in this job description in a professional and timely manner. The GCA provides each customer with courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable service, and contributes to a safe, supportive and positive working environment within the Dinter Nursery team.

The responsibilities of the Garden Center Associate are to:

- Strive for excellence in customer service for each customer, every day
- Promptly and pleasantly greet customers, assess their needs and goals, and take appropriate steps to meet and exceed expectations
- Process customer transactions through the POS (Point Of Sale) system
- Maintain an accurate POS cash balance and related record-keeping
- Complete all administrative functions accurately and in a timely manner
- Stock and merchandise Garden Center products
- Ensure the Garden Center is neat and tidy at all times
- Obtain and maintain any relevant certifications
- Adhere to all company standards, policies and procedures
- Assist other departments and functions, and complete other duties as needed

- An understanding of customer service excellence, and the drive to achieve it
- A positive, co-operative, and enthusiastic attitude with an engaging and friendly manner
- Polished communication skills: oral, written and listening
- The ability to learn quickly and the willingness to be coached and take direction
- Strong organization skills, with an attention to detail
- The ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Taking pride in a job well done and a desire to be productive
- Adaptability and an open-to-change mindset
- A team-player approach, with the ability to work independently

Qualifications:

- Computer experience and basic mathematical skills
- Basic gardening and plant knowledge is an asset
- Ability to safely lift 20 kg

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24-40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: One location
