Residential Supervisor

Springview Residential Services is a leading developmental service agency in Kingston, Ontario. SVRS was established in 2017. SVRS provides residential services and treatment for dependent and semi-dependent male and female persons with developmental disabilities and special needs, who present with a wide range of functioning levels, emotional and behavioural challenges.

SVRS has 5 residential homes in the Kingston area that are dedicated care homes for our clients and staff. We are looking for an experienced person to be a Residential supervisor positions in a residential setting.

**What we’re looking for**:

- University degree or college diploma in social services, and experience working with individuals with special needs.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working within the social services sector.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, drivers abstract and a vehicle
- Criminal reference check for working with vulnerable individuals

**What you’ll be doing in this role**:

- Shifts include; Monday to Friday days shifts and one evening shift per week.
- Week on-call on a 4-week rotation.
- Our homes are located in Kingston, Harrowsmith and Odessa areas. They are residential homes with 6-7 clients per home with 20 working staff members

**Position Description**:Under the direction of the Program Manager and Directors of the agency the SVRS supervisor will be responsible for:

- Effective supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to: assigning work, performance evaluation, approving overtime, training, orientation and counseling.
- Employee performance and ensuring the adherence to all SVRS Policies and Procedures, rules and ministry regulations and guidelines are followed and reviewed regularly by each staff member and student placement/volunteer.
- Be responsible to ensure that all aspects of the program are delivered in professional, cost-effective manner while ensuring the clients level of care and support is at an optimum level at all times (including programming and ensuring the delivery of program objectives)
- Attend all meetings as a SVRS representative in a professional and supportive manner.
- Arrange, Coordinate and attend Plans of care meetings, ensure all POC documents / discharge summaries are provided to the appropriate people.
- Plan specific activity modules and assess programming options/ideas with staff and report back to Manager for approval - outings/special events)
- Coordination of staff schedules to meet the needs of the residents, ensure the staffing teams time sheets, mileage sheets are accurate and submitted to the head office for payroll on the designated days.
- Responsible for all client files and filing, daily communication logs, ABCs, significant events, contact with social worker and cumulative health logs.
- Ensure all Health and Safety Policies are followed, record and arrange monthly fire-drills
- Manage monthly petty cash/client spending, ensuring that all monies are accounted for and appropriately documented.
- Coordination and chairing of monthly staff meetings.
- Make regular contact with family homes/guardians and maintain ongoing relationship for communication purposes
- Serving in an “on call” capacity to provide authorization, direction and assistance in an emergency situation. (Currently 1-5 week rotation)
- ensuring the agency vehicles are properly serviced, maintained and mileage is recorded etc.
- Accepting other related responsibilities / duties at the discretion of the program manager, Directors or Office Manager.
