**Job Title**: Packaging Development Specialist

**Position Overview**: We are currently seeking an experienced, strategic and results-driven Packaging Development Specialist to join our (Supply Chain) team. The essential function of this role drives the development of new products and packaging that will keep Auxly on the leading edge of product innovation, ensuring an interesting and consumer-friendly range of products for our customers and consumers. Will need packaging and product knowledge, as well as strong project management capabilities and a collaborative working style.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaboratively oversee and manage the full packaging specification process, including the design, prototyping, and performance testing of packaging to ensure alignment with internal requirements and regulatory standards.
- Lead and support Quality and Regulatory remediation projects related to packaging.
- Identify, lead and support packaging cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
- Act as a key liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed about packaging project goals and progress. including user requirement specifications, factory acceptance testing, and equipment validation.
- Support the change control process by reviewing, creating, maintaining, and updating packaging specifications and related documentation.
- Ensure packaging compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards through regular engagement with project teams, facilities, and vendors.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Packaging department.
- Prepare regular progress reports and travel as required.
- Develop strategic packaging roadmaps aligned with Auxly's overall business objectives, ensuring optimal resource allocation for maximum impact.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to evaluate and prioritize packaging initiatives, driving resource allocation that maximizes ROI and supports business growth.
- Establish and implement industry best practices and guidelines to enhance packaging innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership regarding packaging trends and technological advancements to inform decision-making and resource prioritization.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in the cannabis industry or similarly regulated markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a fast-paced environment; experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or production is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, procurement, manufacturing) to develop and optimize packaging solutions that meet regulatory, sustainability, and performance requirements.

- Ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset

**Working Conditions**:

- Normal office environment.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending on a regular basis.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills.
