**JOB PURPOSE**:
We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Manager who’s got some real-world experience and loves to be in the agency world of social media and account management. They will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning and proactively managing clients’ social content, providing marketing solutions, and connecting with them to build trusted relationships. Agency experience or managing multiple clients is a requirement for this position.
This Social Media Manager leads a team in the conception and delivery of innovative, well-targeted, business-building social media marketing solutions to meet or exceed client objectives. This involves the creation and execution of social media plans, unearthing insights to inform the development of the plan, and flawless execution on all fronts while working collaboratively and providing mentorship to our young team of creatives.
**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT**
- Maintain and build client relationships by identifying growth opportunities and value-added social media marketing solutions.
- Work with clients to understand their needs and with the internal team to formulate ideas, plan, strategize and create content for all of their social platforms.
- Be the main point of contact for day-to-day operations with clients and communicate with them regularly to provide updates.
- Conduct community engagement for clients to help them grow followers. When needed, travel to various client’s locations throughout the Edmonton area for intro meetings, strategy sessions, and campaigns. Prepare documents prior/after meeting.
- On-site social sharing: Visit clients at their locations or events to take pictures, videos and other forms of content that will be posted on their social networks. I.e., Facebook live, Instagram live, pictures, etc.
- Mentor and manage other members of the team to ensure they are meeting deadlines, staying creative, and are hitting the marks for your strategic content creation.
**REPORTING**
- Track social media campaigns to ensure they are achieving intended results.
- Research competitors and trends.
- Analyze and report on KPI’s and deliver meaningful reporting & analytics to clients & team.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business, Social Media, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in social media marketing.
- Extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the majority of these social media networks including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
- Experience with (and enjoyment in) working with and leading other team members.
- Demonstrates an ability to understand social media metrics and reporting skills.
- Exceptional communication skills; both written and spoken.
- Copywriting experience considered an asset but not required.
- Graphic design experience considered an asset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a positive and upbeat attitude.
- Demonstrate a problem-solving mindset when faced with issues or challenges.
**SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**
- Experience in an agency environment managing multiple clients.
- Accountable and motivated with the ability to work independently and with a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on projects from start to finish.
- Comfortable working and presenting in a fast-paced (agency) environment with tight deadlines.
- Multi-tasker with attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize and self-manage workload.
- Comfortable working directly with clients and internal teams to ensure projects are on-brief, on-budget and on-time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required.
