**Position Summary**:
The Outreach Worker will play a critical role in the delivery of the **NextGen Safe** program, engaging youth aged 12-24 to reduce gun and gang violence in the targeted regions. This role involves direct service delivery, including outreach, mentorship, and facilitation of workshops, as well as basic administrative tasks related to program reporting and tracking.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

**Youth Outreach and Engagement**:

- Conduct street-level outreach and build relationships with at-risk youth in schools, community centers, and high-need areas.
- Provide one-on-one support to participants, connecting them with resources and opportunities for growth.

**Workshop Facilitation**:

- Plan and deliver youth-led workshops on conflict resolution, leadership, and gang violence prevention.
- Collaborate with community partners to ensure relevance and impact.

**Mentorship and Support**:

- Pair participants with mentors and oversee ongoing mentorship activities.
- Act as a role model, offering guidance and encouragement to youth participants.

**Community Engagement**:

- Coordinate youth-led community improvement projects, such as mural painting and awareness campaigns.
- Serve as a liaison between youth participants and community stakeholders.

**Administrative Tasks**:

- Maintain accurate participant records and ensure timely reporting of program outcomes.
- Contribute to program evaluation by collecting data and providing feedback.

**Other duties as assigned**

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in social work, youth work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with at-risk youth, particularly in rural or underserved communities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work as a contributing member of a team both within and outside the organization.
- Able to work flexible hours and respond as needed.
- Knowledge of issues related to gun and gang violence.
- Cultural sensitivity and diversity awareness.
- Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspaces, database management, communication technologies, and a willingness to adapt to new technologies for remote service delivery and data security.
- Clear Intervention Record Check
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract.
- Standard First Aid.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Awareness Training, and commitment to attend other relevant continuing education opportunities.

**Working Conditions**:

- Frequent travel within Camrose, Wetaskiwin, and East Central Alberta.
- Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of youth and program activities.
- Combination of office-based work, community engagement, and street-level outreach.
- Physically and emotionally demanding environment requiring resilience and adaptability.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
