**Position Summary**

The Employment Outreach Worker will be a key member of the EmpowerPLUS program, responsible for engaging with youth in Central Alberta and connecting them with employment opportunities and resources. This role involves outreach activities, individual support, and collaboration with community partners to ensure youth receive the necessary guidance and support to enter and thrive in the workforce.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Outreach and Engagement**
- Conduct outreach activities to identify and engage youth aged 15-30 who are furthest from employment.
- Build trusting relationships with youth through consistent and supportive communication.
- Promote the EmpowerPLUS program through community events, social media, and other outreach strategies.

**2. Participant Support**
- Conduct individual assessments to identify each participant’s strengths, needs, and employment goals.
- Develop and implement personalized employment plans for each participant, in collaboration with the Program Lead, EmpowerPLUS
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to participants, assisting them with resume writing, job searching, interview preparation, and other employment-related activities.

**3. Community Collaboration**
- Establish and maintain relationships with local employers, educational institutions, and community organizations to create employment opportunities for youth.
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops, job fairs, and other events to connect youth with potential employers and resources.
- Advocate for the needs of youth with employers and community partners to ensure supportive and inclusive workplaces.

**4. Monitoring and Evaluation**
- Track and document participant progress, including employment outcomes and skill development.
- Collect and analyze feedback from participants and employers to continually improve program services.
- Assist in preparing reports for program evaluation and stakeholder presentations.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment services, youth programming, or a related area.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by youth, particularly those from marginalized communities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspaces, database management, communication technologies, and a willingness to adapt to new technologies for remote service delivery and data security.
- Clear Intervention Record Check
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
- Standard First Aid Level C with AED
- Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract - 3 years of insured driving

**Preferred Skills and Attributes**
- Experience working with Indigenous youth, youth with disabilities, racialized youth, immigrant youth, and refugee youth.
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and employment resources.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and strengths-based approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with employers and community organizations.

**Working Conditions**
- May need to adhere to strict confidentiality protocols when dealing with sensitive client information.
- Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Travel within East Central Alberta for participant meetings, employer visits, and community events.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
