**Key Responsibilities**:
**Vendor Interaction and Management**:
- Engage with vendors throughout the negotiation process, driving agreements to close.
- Meet requirements for completeness, competitiveness, compliance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment stakeholder standards.
- Collaborate closely with the wider project teams, including the Owner, Engineers, Legal etc.
**Contract Preparation and Legal Coordination**:
- Negotiate contracts for selected vendors, and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
**Industry Knowledge and Pricing Trends**:
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and effective vendor management.
- Leverage market insights to optimize procurement and support cost-efficiency goals.
**Qualifications** Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline: engineering, finance, business, etc.
- Six plus years of procurement related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience with large infrastructure capital project delivery is an asset.
- Experience with municipal government clients is an asset.
- Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel).
- Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment equipment and related industry standards is an asset.
