**Job Overview**:
**Key Job Responsibilities**:
Technical:

- Rotate to various assigned machines as required to meet production requirements.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as conventional lathe, milling machine, drill press, radial arm drill, and the occasional use of CNC equipment.
- Position heavy fabricated metal components in machining fixtures utilizing overhead and jib cranes and other lifting devices per procedure.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, etc.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, gages, etc.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Follows documented procedures standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free operations to create and machine components.
- Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.
- Complete any required documentation - manage and complete the Manufacturing Orders as per company process.

Customer Service:

- Communicate with co-workers and internal customers as needed, including the passing of work from one shift to another.
- Builds sound relationships with the workshop team and internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations.

General:

- Performs other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Safety and Environment
- Complies with KMC safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
- Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Komatsu Mining products.
- Responsibility to identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and / or near misses.
- Maintains hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Maintains orderly workshop and ensures housekeeping requirements are met.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- College Diploma in Machining or Tool & Die or equivalent experience.
- Licensing as Machinist
- 4-8 years of experience as a Manual Machi
