**About the Black Business Initiative (BBI)**
BBI is Atlantic Canada’s leading business development organization dedicated to supporting Black entrepreneurs. Our mission is to empower Black business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by addressing systemic barriers and creating opportunities for sustainable growth and success.

We provide a range of services and programs, including business advisory and counseling, entrepreneurial training, access to funding, mentorship, procurement opportunities, and youth-focused initiatives. Our work extends across all four Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

**About the Role**
We are seeking a dynamic Business Advisors (BA) to join our team in Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Entrepreneurship Manager, the BA will play a key role in delivering BBI’s services and supporting Black entrepreneurs across the province.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing one-on-one business counseling and advisory support.
- Assisting clients in preparing business plans and funding proposals.
- Guiding entrepreneurs through business development stages, from startup to scale-up.
- Identifying challenges and opportunities and helping clients find practical solutions.
- Supporting business training, workshops, and community engagement initiatives.
- Focusing on key sectors, with potential specialization in tech startups.
- Managing relationships with clients and partners across the region.

**What We’re Looking For**
- A degree or diploma in business administration, commerce, economics, finance, marketing, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in financial advisory, commercial lending, business advisory, business development or government sectors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial statements and understanding business needs.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and independent working abilities.
- Knowledge of the Black business ecosystem and the socio-economic challenges facing Black communities in Atlantic Canada.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally as needed.
- Project management experience or certification is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
- A satisfactory combination of work experience and education may be considered for individuals who may not meet all qualifications listed above.

**How to Apply**

Pay: $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
