**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Analyst works collaboratively with the Finance Team, Payroll, Decision Support, Materials Management and the Leadership Team of Guelph General Hospital.

The Finance Analyst collaborates with peer analysts to support clinical & support programs, reports on MOH funded operating programs, responsible for timely and accurate financial statement creation and analysis, and uses a quality improvement focus to improve accounting processes within the department and across the hospital.

The Finance Analyst provides a leadership role for Finance clerks, supervising Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable daily/monthly duties. Responsible to plan, lead and implement quality improvement and best practices within the department.

**Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities**:

- University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline
- Accounting knowledge either by formal education or training, an accounting designation would be an asset
- Minimum 2 years relevant accounting experience preferably in the non-profit sector
- Demonstrated experience in a computerized financial systems environment (Meditech preferred).
- Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer)
- Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to multi task, along with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to be able to plan work to meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated excellence in decision making and critical thinking to perform detailed analytical analysis, identify problems, and recommend/implement solutions to reflect process improvements
- Effective team player with a demonstrated success in working well with various groups of both internal and external clients
- Well organized in terms of providing clear paper/electronic documentation trails that are easy to follow
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
