Edmonton, Canada ARGUS MACHINE CO LTD Full time

**PURPOSE**:

- Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the employee performs general shop floor work. They also assist with handling, storage, and clean up.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide general shop and yard labour as required.
- Clean and maintain the shop area and equipment used daily.
- Use overhead cranes and/or forklift to load and offload items.
- Safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant. Handle materials and equipment with care while being transported. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
- Participate in inventory control activities.
- Crate building to assist shipper as needed.
- Appropriate handling of hazardous chemicals as required by WHIMIS standards.
- Record time and switch codes on the Blue Terminal.
- Forklift use to empty garbage/steel chip bins.
- Contact chip bin removal company when chip bins need emptying.
- Other duties as requested by the supervisor.

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- High school diploma.
- A forklift ticket is an asset.
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license an asset.

**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Shop floor environment, extended standing and working with products.
- Working wearing personal protective equipment 100% of work time.
- Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs without mechanical assistance.
- Frequent outdoor work for short periods of time, variable temperatures.
- Climbing ladders to heights.
