**Position: General Labourer**

**Location: Alberta**

**Type: Full Time, Hourly**

Barrier Group Is looking for an experienced full-time **General Labourer**. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Cleaning of construction sites
- Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment
- Loading and unloading equipment and supplies
- Ground work (silt fence, snow fence, barbed wire fence, erosion control)
- Working with hand tools, moving materials on the construction site, generally assisting other workers in completing their work
- Spotting equipment and trucks
- Some heavy lifting and physically demanding duties
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and take an active role in the client driven health and safety program
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Barrier Group’s safe work practices, policies, and procedures
- Ability to identify hazards
- Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to supervision
- Assist with other general labour duties as required

**Required Qualifications**:

- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with 3-year clean Driver’s Abstract
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a general labourer on Decommissioning and Integrity Dig
- Previous oilfield construction experience would be considered an asset
- Capable of working with small tools
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and work outdoors year-round in variable seasonal weather
- Valid CSTS Certificate
- Valid H2S Alive Certificate
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid Ground Disturbance Level II
- Must be able to pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, while adding to a safe and positive team environment
- Must be in good physical condition
- Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to participate positively in an engaging culture
- Must be dependable
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift

Supplemental pay types:

**Experience**:

- construction labouring: 1 year (preferred)
- oilfield construction: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- H2S Alive Certification (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Ground Disturbance Level II (preferred)
- Class 5 Driver's License (preferred)
