**About the Role**

CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

The Unit Supervisor will:

- Oversee day-to-day functioning of unit team on their assigned shifts.
- Participate in patient intakes, facilitate parent group orientation and youth orientation, and participate in program eligibility assessment as required.
- Provide clinical oversight and support to unit staff with decision-making and treatment on assigned shifts.
- Provide electronic medical record documentation training and oversight for unit staff.
- Develop and implement program-level education and training for the unit staff in collaboration with the Program Manager.
- Model and encourage effective communication within and between teams to promote a safe, respectful and trusting workplace culture.
- Collaborate as a member of the CASA House leadership team to routinely review program development and plan improvements to enhance unit quality.
- Support program staff to use a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centered, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for patients and their families.
- Support recruitment for relevant staff and participate in interviews and selection process.
- Lead team meetings as assigned by the Program Manager.

**Qualifications**
- Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- BScN preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in children’s mental health and/or youth addictions.
- Acute care children’s mental health experience is considered an asset.
- Experience as a charge nurse in the inpatient acute health system is considered an asset.
- Must be a member in good standing with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
