Medical Devices Reprocessing Technician

Responsible for the rental, return reprocessing, and preparation of equipment for Bayshore clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning/decontamination, inspecting, testing of client used infusion pumps and Accessories and quality assurance checks such as functionality and cleanliness.
- Diagnose equipment faults using equipment manuals.
- Testing and inspecting equipment using tools.
- Repair equipment accessories like chargers and batteries for infusion pumps using soldering tools.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Infection Control and principles of Asepsis.
- Quality check adhering to the set of quality criteria requirements.
- Maintains computer system records of all client equipment locations, usages, maintenance, repairs, and returns, etc.
- Conducts reprocessing of client equipment according to policy to ensure all client equipment is cleaned, safe, and ready for client use.
- Receives and handles returned client equipment and medical waste in accordance with infection control standards and policies.
- Processes medical waste as returned independently or with equipment.
- Maintain reports and complete work orders.
- Experience in functioning within a team concept with good interpersonal skills.

Job Qualification
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Training as a Bio technician, training in client equipment reprocessing and infection control.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to organize workload for efficient use of time. Ability to function independently.
**Physical Demands**
- The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers.
- The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
- The employee is required to stand, bend, walk and sit.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting required as per employee capacity, employee must notify Supervisor regarding any health issues that may affect ability to lift.
**Work Environment**
- The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Weekend or evening work may be required.
