Established in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
JOB SUMMARY
The Inventor Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining 3D models, illogic, Content Center data of various products or systems using Autodesk Inventor software. This role will be a driving force in ensuring 3D transition is streamlined from design, bill of materials and product fabrication. The position will lead to training and coaching of the production release team on utilizing new software and process for deliverables.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Health and Safety
- Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and regulations including using any equipment, protective devices or clothing required.
- Reports any known workplace hazards or violations of the Act to the supervisor
Technical/Function
- Models Inventor content and ensures validation by collaborating with required teams
- Continuously engages with design team to associate and maintain product library
- Provides support for next step, down stream tasks and fabrication process
- Uses in app tools to further develop tools/content support company growth
- Utilize I-Logic to associate content to inventor models
- Creating fabrication assembly standards and sheets
Internal/External Customer Service
- Develops and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders
- Is proactive in seeking others input in creating solutions that meet internal/external customer needs
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Inventor certified with thorough knowledge of building systems assemblies, libraries, I-logic, IFeatures and Content Center
- 5 years of experience in using Autodesk Inventor software
- In depth knowledge of an Inventor supported manufacturing process
- Exposure to façade fenestration product and Construction industry
SKILLS
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Resourceful, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to map existing workflows and recommend technology solutions to support or improve them
- Exposure to virtual construction software and tools
- Knowledge of product assembly and IOT fabrication machinery
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, problem solving abilities and professional judgement
