**JOB PURPOSE**:
To assist the Pharmacist in the day to day activities in the pharmacy, including assisting in dispensing, inventory ordering and control, compounding preparations, operating the cash register, providing strong customer service and special events. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist-On-Duty.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Help patients who are dropping off or picking up their prescriptions.
- Enter prescriptions into the computer ensuring accurate entry of drug and patient information into PharmaNet patient records.
- Create or update the patient’s profile.
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy.
- Assist the pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions utilizing the basket system.
- Answer telephone calls for the pharmacist.
- Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams.
- Pre Packaged bulk medications for nursing home or compliance patients.
- Assist pharmacist in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
- Complete daily and weekly wholesale medication orders.
- Receive orders and stock inventory in the pharmacy and OTC and front store as required
- Prepare pharmacy inventory for annual pharmacy inventory count.
- Operate a cash register.
- Follow all loss prevention systems and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patients and call Pharmacist when required for medication recommendations, selection or counseling.
- Other duties as required.
