**What you’ll do**

The Financial Analyst will play a key role within a dynamic accounting team focused on an efficient and effective Accounting function which uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, increases service level performance and minimizes risk. The incumbent will analyze the output of how others have recorded data and investigates anomalies and discrepancies in order to ensure accurate corporate reporting and adherence to accounting standards.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to Management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Prepare and review significant analyses, entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process.
- Analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends. Presents findings to managers and senior management.
- Analyze and implement the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls.
- Execute the impact of business decisions while following Accounting & Regulatory policies and procedures.
- Identify and execute complex process improvements, including demonstrated experience developing or auditing complex accounting models or valuations.
- Execute and maintain documentation of controls.

**What you bring**
- University degree in Accounting or Finance areas.
- CPA designation (or working towards) required.
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in a medium/large company at a Financial Analyst/Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge.
- Ability to provide accounting guidance on capitalization of intangible assets and determine appropriate treatment of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS.
- Solid financial and technical skills coupled with strong analytical ability.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment.
- Naturally curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced PC skills including Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with internal and external audit processes.
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system and HFM is an asset.
- Broad knowledge of the Chart of Accounts and internal controls is an asset.
