**What you'll do**

The Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the Financial Planning and Analysis and Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS) team that provides exceptional financial planning, analytical, and financial reporting support to executives. The role plays an important part in business partnering and building relationships with the CTFS Product Development and Marketing team, the broader Finance function, and other stakeholders to understand results and provide exceptional insights.

- Provide Financial planning and business decision support to CTFS’ Insurance business. Working closely with the Insurance Marketing team, the Financial Analyst will effectively take over the role of ‘Insurance CFO’ and provide accurate forecasts for premium generation, new account acquisition, account closures, claims and overall Insurance IBT. The Financial Analyst will also identify risks and opportunities to profitability grow the Insurance business
- Provide excellent support to executives and business partners by preparing accurate and timely forecasts, monitoring results versus forecast, and providing a thorough analysis and investigating variances to your forecast
- Assist other analysts in the department by providing back up and support for Credit Card and Credit Risk forecasting and reporting; helping to monitor and report on Consumer Insolvencies, payment delinquency and CTFS’s forecast for bad debt
- Provide analysis and reporting on CTFS’ payment processing business; the Financial Analyst will build models and forecasts to plan for revenue and expenses associated with the payment processing business within Canadian Tire stores
- Produce insightful, meaningful, and analytical commentary and reporting that can assist financial and non-financial stakeholders to facilitate decision making
- Proactively build and improve financial models to assist with regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting
- Collaborate with various Financial Planning and Analysis teams to consolidate financial results
- Anticipate and support evolving financial performance reporting needs and work with cross functional teams to drive improvements and process changes

**What you bring**
- University degree or College diploma in Business, Finance/Accounting, or business-related discipline
- Minimum of 2+ years in a business or financial analysis role
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Currently pursuing or have obtained an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is an asset
- Someone who takes ownership and accountability for their work
- Team player and open to new challenge
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills accompanied with strong business acumen
- Experience with building and improving financial models
- Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex financial results and build and maintain strong relationships
- Attention to detail, organized, motivated self-starter and with ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements
