**Calgary, AB**:
As an Environmental Technician, you will be a reliable, knowledgeable, and valued member of our Environmental practice team. You will focus on conducting safe field investigations and task-specific monitoring and sampling work.

**Responsibilities**

As an Environmental Technician your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Assisting in the coordination of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments including the completion of safety plans and ground disturbance procedures.
- Completing and documenting field programs for borehole and soil sampling programs, soil vapour screening, monitoring well installations, groundwater sampling with a variety of sampling techniques, air and vapour monitoring and sampling, and surveying.
- Preparing comprehensive field notes in conjunction with all field activities.
- Recording field data and observations, soil classifications and logging, collecting environmental samples, submitting samples as per instruction, and maintaining detailed notes.
- Conducting surface and groundwater sampling, waste/soil sampling, and air/vapour monitoring.
- Completing regular maintenance and calibration of field equipment.
- Maintaining the environmental laboratory including stocking disposable products, cleanliness of the facility, organization and inventory of products and equipment.
- Other duties, as required.

**Required Qualifications and Experience**
- Completion of an Environmental Technology diploma program or similar.
- Strong interest in learning environmental assessments, including soil and groundwater field sampling.
- Strong organizational skills, including effective management of multiple and conflicting priorities with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, in the context of work/life balance.
- Ability to work independently on site, outside, and in remote locations for periods of time, tolerating variable weather conditions.
- Willing to work overtime, including long hours, night shifts or weekends, for potentially extended periods of time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Continued attention to safety and safe work environments, with a strong workplace safety orientation.

**Physical Requirements**
- Operate a pickup truck or van requiring a standard Class 5 Driver’s License to travel to project locations and transport equipment for sampling and testing at a variety of job sites.
- Lift, bend, and turn while being able to move samples and equipment from one place to another, in and out of vehicles, and around the project site.
- Work on uneven terrain and near large construction equipment.
- Works in a variety of weather conditions, sometimes for long hours, and in remote locations.
