Amity Environmental provides our clients with quality service and technical knowledge in hazardous waste management and remediation, including asbestos, mold, lead-based paint, industrial hygiene and indoor air quality, property cleanup, and emergency/disaster response.
**Water Restoration Technician - WRT Certified**
Job duties and responsibilities
- Respond to Emergency and Non-Emergency losses including but not limited to: Water, Fire, Sewage, Bio-hazard, and more
- Prepare job sites for the cleaning & removal process, and complete as per established scope
- Load, unload, and correctly deploy equipment as required to mitigate losses as determined by WRT or Lead.
- Complete and monitor the drying process, including monitoring effectiveness of equipment and status of mitigation (ie. moisture mapping & check dries)
- Prepare Personal Protective Equipment on site; ensure it is cleaned and ready to use
- Construction of hoarding walls, poly containment, and shoring
- Remove and prepare Hazardous Materials for appropriate disposal method, and clean up.
- Clean all equipment before it comes back to the shop, and before it enters the vehicle
- Ensure all paper work, pictures and inventory is completed
- Stay up to date and comply with Worksafe regulations, policies and officers
- Travel will be required for the purposes of serving clients and some training
- Physical activity is required, lifting, loading, 50+ pounds
- Ensure compliance with all required safety protocols.
The above statements are general activities expected from an Asbestos Abatement Worker; this is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required.
**QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- WRT certification REQUIRED,
- Asbestos certification an asset, company will pay for certification if required
- Active Drivers License an asset,
- Experience in any other aspects of construction, demolition, or restoration would be considered an asset,
- Able to perform manual labor with no restrictions, which may include but will not be limited to lifting, carrying, climbing, crawling, repetitive motion,
- Able to work in non-climate-controlled environments, occasionally in moderate heat/cold,
- Must have own CSA approved steel-toed boots. All other job specific equipment and safety gear will be provided, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.,
- Applicants must have strong comprehension of the English language,
- Organized & Dedicated, with good work ethic,
- AMRT, FSRT, OCT certifications are an asset, but not required. Employer will pay for appropriate training courses and certifications as required,
- Completion of CSTS2020, WHIMIS and First Aid as an asset.
Must be available and able to TRAVEL TO JOB SITES to perform work, either by vehicle or public transit. Assignments may require paid overtime, weekend work, and travel / work at remote locations. Work hours are generally 8:00am-4:30pm, emergency response should be expected outside of standard hours.
Compensation is based on work experience, education, and certifications.
