This position is rigorous, interesting, and unique. The job integrates elements of Physical, Occupational and Recreation Therapies. A Cover Letter should be included which describes why you seek this position and any previous experience with physically disabled adults.

The articulate and engaging client uses a manual wheelchair for mobility and is currently a post-secondary education student.

This job entails implementing a clearly designed hands-on program which includes:

- a physical exercises to promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and independence
- a swimming program
- wheelchair skills
- computer skills
- assistance with personal care
- recreational activities
- assisting with transfers
- driving client to and from activities

Training and ongoing consultation will be provided.

**Location**: The location of the position is a home located about 4 minutes (by car or bus) from the Armdale Rotary in Halifax **Hours**:(14-18 hours per week daytime hours with additonal hours in summer)

**Applicants must be available for position for at least one year. Applicants need to have flexible daytime hours.**

**Pay**:$21-25/Hour

**Qualifications**: - Excellent physical strength and health (young man weighs 133 pounds and requires assistance with all transfers, lifting, and his exercise program)
- College diploma or current undergraduate university degree or current university student
- comfortable with assisting in personal care (dressing, toileting)
- creativity and problem-solving, patience
- ability to incorporate feedback into program
- skilled in computer usage
- punctuality

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 - 17 per week
