Ebco Industries Ltd. is looking for an experienced Machinist to predominately work on the horizontal boring mill. As a Machinist in our Heavy Machine Shop, your role is critical to the reputation that Ebco has built for delivering world-class quality manufacturing and repair/ rebuild services to projects based domestically and worldwide. You will set up and operate conventional machines to produce ferrous and non-ferrous parts.

Our customers range from small and/or start-up companies to world class suppliers of OEM capital equipment and machinery. Our headquarters and manufacturing facility is located in Richmond, B.C. Canada.
**KEY DUTIES**
- Reading blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine; dimensions and tolerances on finished work pieces, the sequence of operations and set-up requirements.
- Measuring, marking and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selecting, aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as; mills, lathes and vertical lathes.
- Calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors such as; speed, feed, coolant flow and depth, and angle of cut.
- Verifying conformance of finished work pieces to specifications and reporting any non-conformance to Quality Control and Area Supervisor.
- Communicating with Engineers, Production, Programmers and/or others to resolve machining issues.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Experience on CNC Horizontal Boring Mill
- Familiar with FANUC controls
- Proficient at editing and managing programs
- Basic math skills such as; adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, drawings and sketches and required tolerances and specifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English - writing, reading and speaking.
- Must be able to use all equipment safely.
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Red Seal Trades Certification, or willingness to challenge the Red Seal.
- At least 5 years experience working on a boring mill in a machine shop.
- Proven record in the machining industry.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts in a moderately noisy environment
- Must be willing to accommodate flexible working schedules, including shift work.
**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be a motivated self-starter who can work with mínimal supervision
- Must work well in a team environment
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
**HOURS OF WORK**
- Afternoon shift Monday to Thursday, 2pm to 11.20pm
- Overtime on Fridays and Saturdays may be required from time to time
