Let’s start with the general details **Position**: Fund Development Manager **Location**: Anselma House in Kitchener and Haven House in Cambridge **Status**: Full Time **Starting Salary**: $75,034 So, how do we define a **Fund Development Manager**? Reporting to the Director of Communications and Corporate Initiatives, the Fund Development Manager is a key member of the organization's leadership team. This role will oversee three direct reports including the Senior Communications and Event Coordinator, the Fund Development Coordinator, and the Evaluations and Data Specialist. This role works closely with all levels of the organization to achieve the goals and directions set out in our strategic plan - particularly related to fund development, community engagement, marketing and communications. The main buckets of work will include; - Leading the communications & fund development team and overseeing daily activities. - Developing, implementing and overseeing fundraising events and projects. - Responsible for annual planning, goal setting, and creating annual fundraising budget. - Overseeing Leadership Giving and Annual Giving Programs. - Taking the lead on annual direct mail campaigns, including project coordination, design and production, and review of results. - Working with Director and CEO to cultivate, solicit and steward Leadership Givers. - Developing and tracking metrics for Leadership Giving including revenue targets and donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship touches. - Overseeing donor stewardship activities ensuring: - Donors are properly thanked and recognized. - Accountability so that donors understand how their gifts were used - Impact so that donors understand how their gifts impact women and families. - Representing the organization through attendance at cheque presentations and speaking engagements. - Overseeing the direction and scope of work for the communications team ensuring an integrated approach with fundraising. - An Undergraduate degree in a related field, along with five (5) years fundraising or business development with a focus on relationship building. - Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is considered an asset. - Strong administrative skills including planning and evaluation, budgeting, scheduling, project management, personnel management and assessment. - Strong organizational and time management skills; the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines along with accuracy and attention to detail. - Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. - Ability to lead, motivate and support staff and volunteers. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally with staff, management, volunteers, suppliers, community partners and external stakeholders. - An understanding of digital/online engagement tools and platforms and the associated analytics with the ability to report and make recommendations using this data. - High level of professionalism and ability to manage smooth event logistics under pressure. - Strong knowledge of women’s issues and the dynamics of violence against women and children utilizing an anti-racist, anti-oppressive framework. - Ability to work flexible hours as required. - Travel required throughout Waterloo Region.
