Here's how a(n) Health, Safety and Environment Student for our Edmonton Buildings office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations
- Manage documents (i.e.: data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.)
- Assist with the orientation of new employees
- Development of training materials
- Reviewing paperwork (i.e.: PSI, tailgate meetings, safework procedure, trend analysis)
- Monitor and maintain the environmental program
- Recognize and follow PCL and local legislative requirements
- Analyze site-specific trends and incidents and report findings to district
- Gather/review/distribute safety-related statistical information
- Interpret, communicate, and reinforce project safety standards to workforce
**Qualifications**:
- Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures
- Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance
- Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards
- The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong willingness to learn
- Access to a clean, reliable vehicle
