**Job Description**:
**The Healthcare Staffing and Logistics Manager **is responsible for the oversight of all Porter functions, and may include assisting with management of the housekeeping management and/or materials management for the assigned area or facility. The role may also assist with the supervison of the hospital internal Call Center and Help Desk line which pages staff, Porters and other team members.
The Portering Manager leads, develops, motivates and directs frontline and supervisory employees. This role oversees and arranges for the assignment of work routines and schedules, determining appropriate staffing models and needs based on client and service requirements to ensure adherence to requirements and budgets.
You will prepare reports, create and implement environmental service programs, introduces new and updated standards and implements Sodexo service programs throughout area of oversight. You will ensure proper orientation and training of staff, directing any remedial training as required. You will also Oversee the maintenance of inventory levels related to supplies and equipment as well as ensure adherence to budgets, and performance metrics as required.
**Operations** - Leads implementation plans for environmental service programs, Sodexo programs and ensures compliance to all programs, including but not limited to quality assurance auditing, customer feedback surveys, safety audits, safety initiatives, efficiency initiatives, etc. Provides reports and recommendations regarding operational efficiencies, implementing as appropriate.
**HR, Training & Hiring Related** - Manages, coaches, motivates and develops direct reports, which may include managers, supervisors and/or front line employees, to ensure all are appropriately trained and adhering to proper procedures. Collaborates with HR and Union to resolve issues, respond to grievances and interpret CBA, meets with Union and consults on other LR/Union related issues.
**Safety** - Performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual safety checks and inspections as required as well as performs safety observations on employees, conducts regular safety walks and trainings. You may assist with safety investigations and complete reporting on all safety related tasks.
**Scheduling - **Dispatches and prioritizes work assignments and employees ensuring client needs and expectations are met in accordance with contract or oversees dispatch of same.
**Qualifications**:
- Post
- secondary degree or diploma in management, business or related field or related field or equivalent education and experience is a strong asset or related experience working with porter services within hospitality
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Soft Services environment in a hospital or related healthcare environment - Acute / LTC or Seniors Living is a strong asset
- Superior communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal
- Strong organizational, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- 2-3 years working with Unionized staff managment is a strong asset
