Flair Airlines is currently seeking a **t**emporar**y,** **full-time Financial Audit Specialist, **for approximately** **3 months**,** to join our growing and ever-changing organization.
The **Financial Audit Specialist** will be based out of Edmonton, AB (YEG) and will be required to work from our corporate office located at the Edmonton International Airport.
**Position Overview**:
**Working Conditions**:
The position is based at the head office, core office hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. The position will require prolonged periods of sitting and using office equipment and computers. Long periods of intense concentration may be required. Position may require moving from a sitting to a standing position, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, grasping, and lifting 5 to 20 lbs.
**Primary Job Functions**:
- Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the audit process.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data, identifying trends, patterns, and potential areas of concern.
- Assist in the documentation and evaluation of internal controls, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the finance team to gather and compile supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Participate in meetings with auditors, providing relevant information and explanations as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of any audit recommendations or corrective actions identified during the process.
- Support the finance team in other ad hoc tasks and projects related to the audit process, as assigned by the Controller.
**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) working in accounting, financial analysis, or audit roles.
- Sound knowledge of GAAP or IFRS, and a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
**Required Competencies**:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify potential issues.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, particularly when working under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and auditors.
- Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
