Music Director

LU CAMPUS RADIO INC. (CILU) REQUIRES A MUSIC DIRECTOR (aka **CILU 102.7fm )**

Our station is not
- for
- profit based. We provide unique radio to the Northwestern Ontario Area via Antenna and stream worldwide on our website.

We are looking for an individual who is dynamic and engaging to fill our Music Director role. A person able to think outside the box every day to engage our listeners, our volunteers, Lakehead University Students, the city at large, and fellow employees.

Job description:

- Provide support on production required to produce shows for air.
- Communicate with labels to bring in music to support on air production.
- Produce charts and submit them to Earshot and post them on our website.
- Develop workshops for LU students and community members using the skills acquired at CILU as a template.
- Develop administrative spreadsheets such as volunteer lists to track volunteer time.
- Develop sponsor lists to track payments and deadlines and renew and acquire new sponsors.
- Solicit and propose sponsorships to businesses and groups on the Lakehead University campus and region.
- Communicate with sponsors and volunteers about events, new music, and possible interviews with touring bands, performers, and groups.
- Answer phones at the station house, following up on inquiries about the station.
- Organize and work events on campus and in the city.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Station Manager

FULL TIME, MONDAY TO FRIDAY, BUT WITH THE ABILITY TO BE FLEXIBLE WHEN EVENTS THAT RUN OVER WEEKENS OCCUR. START DATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

SKILLS

Ability to approach strangers and engage with them regarding ILU

Ability to approach local business, community groups to organize events, sell advertising, negotiate sponsorships

Production experience, radio experience, media or journalism an asset. Experience working with a board of directors and committee structure an asset. Experience with community groups, not for profits, working in the arts an asset. Experience with editing websites an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
